This luxury 10 day tour offers something a little different with the chance to view all of the classical sites of Egypt but also enjoy a relaxing cruise on the tranquil waters of Lake Nasser. Beginning in Cairo with trips to the Pyramids and Egyptian Museum you will then fly south to Abu Simbel and board your cruise under the shadow of the famous Ramses II Sun temples. With stops at Kasr Ibrim and Amada the cruise slowly sails on to Aswan and the home of the Philae Temple before enjoying full tours of the East and West Bank sites of Luxor.

Day 1 – Arrive into Cairo

Welcome to Egypt! Upon arrival into Cairo our representatives will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel for the start of your tour.

Day 2 – Cairo. Pyramids Tour & Saqqara

Our tour of Egypt begins this morning with a trip to Giza to view the Sphinx and the world famous Pyramids where we enjoy a fully guided tour of the sites before giving you the chance to explore on your own. This afternoon we make the short drive to the huge ancient necropolis found at Saqqara. Built in the third dynasty and designed by renowned architect Imhotep, Saqqara is famous for its dramatic stepped Pyramid – the oldest pyramid in Egypt.

Day 3 – Cairo. Museum & City tour

After breakfast our city tour of Cairo begins with a visit to the incredible Egyptian Museum – home to countless ancient artifacts including the Tutankhamun exhibition. We then continue our tour of Cairo with a trip to the Citadel and the Mohamed Ali mosque which overlook the city.  The maze like streets and the bustling bazaars of Khan-el-Khalili market are next before we end the day exploring the fascinating churches of Coptic Cairo – both the hanging church of St. Mary’s (one of Egypt’s oldest churches) and St. Sergio which is believed to have been visited by the Holy Family of Joseph, Mary and Jesus.

Day 4 – Cairo. Fly to Abu Simbel

We depart Cairo this morning for the flight south to Abu Simbel – home of one of the most impressive monuments in Egypt. Once arriving into Abu Simbel we invite you to board the luxury cruise boat that will be home for the next 3 nights. Following lunch our guides will accompany you to view the beautiful Sun Temples of Ramses II and give a guided tour. This evening enjoy watching the sun set over Abu Simbel followed by what is widely regarded as the best Sound & Light show in Egypt.

Day 5 – Abu Simbel. Lake Nasser Cruise to Wadi el Seboua

Enjoy breakfast this morning accompanied with fantastic views of Lake Nasser as we sail on to the fortress at Kasr Ibrim. The cruise continues to Amada where we disembark to visit Amada Temple, Ed Deir as well as the Tomb of Pennut. After lunch we set sail for Wadi el Seboua.

Day 6 – Wadi el Seboua. Lake Nasser Cruise

This morning we visit the unique desert temple complex at Wadi el Seboua, dedicated to Amun-Ra ‘The King of the Gods’ who is believed to be the father of all Pharaohs. We then have the option of taking a camel ride or just simply walking along to the temples located at Dakka and Mehraka. This afternoon we continue sailing on to Aswan.

Day 7 – Cruise to Aswan. Tour to Beit el Wali and Philae Temple

Welcome to Aswan at the heart of the Nubian Desert. We begin this morning with a visit to the Kalabsha Temple dedicated to Mandulis – a Nubian Sun god. Along with the temples of Abu Simbel, Kalabsha also had to be moved when the Aswan High Dam was built. After a trip to the rock-cut temple at Beit el Wali we visit the stunning Kiosk of Kertassi before we disembark the cruise boat and transfer to the hotel. This afternoon lets us view the impressive Aswan High Dam before on the way to the idyllic Philae Temple – perhaps one of the most picturesque in the whole of Egypt.

Day 8 – Aswan. Drive to Luxor. East Bank tour

Following breakfast this morning we make the transfer to Luxor by road and check into our hotel. We spend the afternoon on Luxor’s East bank and enjoy fully guided tours of both the huge Karnak Temple system and the smaller but perfectly positioned Luxor Temple.  The evening is free to explore Luxor at leisure.

Day 9 – Luxor. West Bank tour

We have an early start this morning to avoid the crowds and make the most of cooler temperatures for our tour of the West Bank sites. Beginning at the Colossi of Memnon we then visit the world famous Valley of the Kings burial site and the mortuary temple of Ramses III (Medinet Habu) before ending the excursion at the historic temple of Queen Hatshepsut. The afternoon is free to explore Luxor before we transfer to the airport for your flight back to Cairo from where you will be taken to your hotel.
