Wadi Rum Camp

Wadi Rum Camp

Visit the iconic Rose City of Petra and explore more of the Middle East by including a visit to Jordan on to your itinerary. This 5 day tour works well with any trip to either Egypt or Jerusalem and is designed to work perfectly with our other tours.

Day 1: Aqaba – Wadi Rum

Whether arriving from Egypt or Jerusalem our local representatives will be on hand to meet you and assist with your arrival at the border in Aqaba. Your tour begins as we depart Aqaba for Wadi Rum, home to incredible desert landscapes sculpted by dramatic rock formations and beautiful canyons and the site of our exhilarating Jeep tour through the desert. The stunning desert landscape is really brought in to focus on this 2 hour tour and you will have the chance to visit the Great Crusaders Castles of Shobak. We camp close to the entrance of the wadi and in true desert fashion you can either sleep in a traditional Bedouin tent or under the stars.

(Dinner included)

Day 2: Wadi Rum – Petra

After breakfast we make the short drive to the forgotten city of Petra. This UNSESCO world heritage site is a truly remarkable settlement carved out of the rocky canyons that surround it and thus lay hidden for hundreds of years. Here you can find ancient Nabatean, Roman and Christian centers of worship as well as understanding more about what life was like upon the ancient trade routes. Our tour begins with a gentle horse ride (optional) through the Siq before having the chance to explore the much photographed Treasury as well as the Theatre Tombs, Hall of Justice and Palaces. You will enjoy a guided tour but also have the chance to explore the area on your own. Overnight in Petra.

(Breakfast included)

Day 3: Petra – Kerek – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Amman

This morning we depart Petra in the direction of Amman stopping along the way at Kerak and Madaba. Kerak is home to one of the largest Crusader Castles in the region which dates back to 1140 and offers stunning views across the expansive desert. Madaba is also known as the ‘City of Mosaics’ and from here we make a slight detour to Mt. Nebo where Moses is thought to be buried. On a clear day it is possible to see the Jordan Valley, Jericho, Bethlehem and sometimes even Jerusalem from this site. We then proceed to the capital, Amman.

(Breakfast included)

Day 4 – Amman – Jerash – Dead Sea – Amman

Following breakfast this morning we drive south out of Amman to visit Jerash, also known as the city of 1,000 Pillars. Here we take time to explore the many facets of this ancient city including the Triple Arched Gate, Hippodrome, Theatre and the Roman Forum. This afternoon we travel on to the site of the world famous Dead Sea – at 1306 feet below normal sea level this is the lowest spot on Earth. Take the chance to swim or indeed float upon this iconic and historically important site. This evening we return to Amman.

(Breakfast included)

Day 5: Amman – A/P (B)
